Email marketing is a good option, but you have to build your list somehow… and I fail to see how search (in some capacity) wouldn’t play a role in that. Creating a video for Youtube could grab you some traffic directly, but you still would ultimately be using search engines because I don’t think that Youtube gives you the option to add noindex to your video pages.

I think you’ll probably have to reconsider your anti-search engine stance if you want to be effective with your promotional methods.

If you can create a email marketing campaign that gets people thinking… then they will send it to their friends. It’s an exponential curve!

You could call it Viral Marketing. I know it’s not an attractive word but SEO specialists have given it this term because it acts like a virus. When people find something interesting they forward it to their friends, a viral marketing campaign spreads the same way. So how do you create a viral campaign??

Make a video, preferably humorous, and post it on you tube, advertise your website on it. If people like the video they will tell their friends/work colleagues about it. Remember the video should be related to your product/service.

If you are on a budget, you do what is called buzz marketing or word of mouth marketing. Basically you pay people to talk to other people about your site. Alternatively, you ask your friends and loyal users to actively promote your site. Each person will tell 5 people, the 5 will tell 5 each and so on.
